[[Scene opens on a dim-lit stage inside of a near empty restaurant. The city is unknown. Few people were seated on a table, enjoying their meals as a band was on stage. A young blonde was in front of a microphone, in a sparkling short red dress. Her hair covered half of her face, cut short to her chin. She sang into the microphone as the band played on, her voice so soulful.]]
“Georgia… Georgia… A song of you..Comes as sweet and clear..as moonlight through the pines…”
[[What little crowd members there were watched the blonde sing. Her voice had soul… Also seemed very empty inside…]]
“I said just an old sweet song keeps Georgia on my mind…”
[[As the song came to an end, the few people began to clap. The woman bowed her head in appreciation and walked off the stage as she went to the bar. The bartender handed her a glass of water. She smiled in appreciation.]]
“I appreciate getting us the gig, Jack. Thank you so much.”
[[Jack smiled and nodded to the woman as he turned to other customers to get their drinks. The woman walked over to her band members, who were also seated at a table.]]
Male 1: Emma, I’m sorry the turnaround wasn’t as good as we hoped. I did a lot of advertising.
[[Emma smiled faintly at one of the men who had placed up his guitar.]]
“It’s ok Lambert. Everyone prefers true artists now. It’s a shame… But you know, I’ve got you guys, so that’s all that matters.”
[[She wrapped her arms around Lambert and gave him a kiss on the cheek. ]]
“I love you babe.”
Lambert: And I love you, my shining star.
[[The scene zooms out and fades to black as you see the restaurants light coming to a close.]]
[[We now open to a different scene where we are in Emma’s old apartment. It is only a few hours later that night. The door opens, in which we see Emma enter, in the same dress. Lambert has walked her to her door. He places his arms around her in a warm embrace.]]
Lambert: Keep your chin up. Your opportunity will come, I just know it. You just have to believe in yourself too.
[[Emma breathed in his cologne and sighed heavily as she buried her face in his chest.]]
“I guess I’m just losing a lot of confidence. I’ll be fine in the morning. I just probably need some sleep.”
Lambert: Alright… Well, if you need anything, you know who to call, okay? I love you.
“I love you too.”
[[The two kiss as she leaves him to make her way into her apartment. You see Lambert smile at her as he closed the door behind him. She takes a breath and walks over to her bed. As she places the covers over her, she drifts off to sleep.]]
[[The following morning, she awakes to the ringing of her cellphone. Emma rises slowly from her bed and picks up her cellphone. After a yawn, she speaks out.]]
“Hello?...... Yes…. I know Bradley Lambert…. … What? … I’ll be right there….”
[[Tears filled her eyes as she immediately sprints out from her bed. She rushes finding clothes to place on, as she grabs her keys from the counter and runs out of her apartment and to her car. She jumps in the seat and slams the door shut – wasting no time getting the car on. The car reverses out of the parking lot and is now seen driving straight to the hospital, as the scene fades to white.]]
[[The scene has now returned to present day, as a dazed Emma is sitting at a table. Shawn Cashman is trying to get her attention.]]
“Emma? Hello, Emma? Did you hear anything I just said?”
“Huh… .. No, I’m sorry.. I was just thinking.. Could you repeat what you said?”
[[Shawn just looks at her and sighs heavily, shaking his head.]]
“Sorry… I know you’re going through a lot lately. I was just stating, now that we got the police report on that stalker, we won’t have anything distracting you from our match with Classy Jay and Joanne Canelli.”
“Oh my Lord. I completely forgot we had a match. Shawn – I’m so sorry…”
“You haven’t been preparing have you?”
“No … Between having to go to the police, and talking to them and … a lot of other things, it’s just been the last thing on my mind. I’ll prepare tonight. I promise.”
[[Shawn had no idea what’s been wrong with Emma, but the afterthoughts she’s been having, has only begun as her life was beginning to spiral to the anniversary of a person she would never forget. Emma looked down at her plate, which just only contained of spinach and strawberries, barely touched.]]
“Well… At least eat something. I don’t know what’s gotten into you, but you know if you need to talk about it, I’m here.”
[[She glanced up at him with a faint expression on her face, trying to fight back tears. She efforts a smile and picks up her fork.]]
“Maybe we’ll talk about it another time… But thanks, I appreciate it. Now if you don’t mind, why am I competing against Joanne again? And what does Classy Jay have anything to do with it?”
[[He shrugged as he picked up his burger, taking a big bite. Muffled with food in his mouth, he made an effort to respond, only to make Emma seem grossed out by his actions.]]
“Well, they’ve formed some type of alliance in case you didn't remember. Like you have anything to worry about – the last time you were in the ring, you gave her a run for the money. Being in the business doesn’t always been you’re the better opponent.”
“That’s true. Experience is great and all, but when she experiences more injuries, it just only bares out weakness…. And Classy Jay is still around? Don’t you hate that guy?”
“Yeah – let’s not get into him. I’ve got no worries about him. You just stay focused on Joanne, and I will take care of the rest. And when we have our victory tonight, can we please talk tonight? I’ve really been needing to tell you something.”
“I’m sorry… It’s been a rough few weeks.. Of course, we will talk. I'm glad you're my friend, you know that?”
“I know. Wouldn't have it any other way… But..alright, well, I’ve paid our tab, we better get to the gym.”
[[Shawn comes to a stand as he slaps down on the table a fifty dollar bill. Emma still seems rather distant, but nods as she acknowledges Shawn taking his exit as she proceeds to finish her salad. One day, everything will piece together, but for now, it’s just a matter of trying to get through it as she had the past eight years…]]
Nobody knows the pain that burns inside me. Nobody knows the feelings I've had to encounter, the sadness I've had to inhale. This time of the year is the worst feeling in the world to me, and it's no wonder why I'm always alone... But when we go to the ring....You can imagine that whether it's Classy Jay or Joanne - you better watch out. My heart is full and I don't care who I have to go through tonight, but do NOT think I won't go easy on either one of you...
