Roy Speede is sitting on a couch, watching a television. He remains silent as the TV re-plays something that had happened in the past, and the scene zooms in to focus on the flashback on the television...
...
The scene opens outside the El Diablo restaurant as Roy’s BMW rolls up; he parks the car in the lot outside the restaurant, and after taking the keys from the ignition, he follows the walkway up to the front of the restaurant, where Alex and Zach are standing and waiting. The three enter the restaurant, and are silently led to a square table with a chair on each side of it. Roy is the first to sit, and Alex and Zach both take their seats simultaneously, Zach to his right, Alex to his left.
Roy:”So you all said I had a client who would meet us here at six. Who is it?”
Alex:”I said the client would meet you here, I didn’t say the client would show up right at six. Probably fashionably late, as is usual for this client.”
Roy:”Don’t tell me... You mean my client is...”
He’s cut off in mid sentence by a hand running through his hair, the hand of Hope Dudley, and she smiles as she removes her hand from atop his head and sits down across from Roy in the empty seat.
Hope:”I’m here Roy. Sorry I’m late, got caught up in a bit of a workout, and ended up losing track of time in the shower... The hot water felt great, so I took a bit longer of a shower than I probably should’ve. But I’m here.”
Roy:”Oh joy. Well, I’m glad you’re here, actually. I could use a bit of advice from you. I remember you beat Katarina a while back; how difficult was that for you to win, might I ask, and as far as that goes, Katarina beat my opponent for Live Wire, Lacey Carter, so I was figuring that if Katarina is as easy as you made it look for her to beat, I shouldn’t have a problem beating Lacey at all. “
Hope:”Actually, Roy, Katarina gave me the fight of my life. It’s no surprise she beat Lacey Carter, but there’s no doubt Lacey actually has a chance in this thing if you let your guard down. You know what I mean? That’s why I’m sure you know you’ll have to keep your mind on the match and keep bringing the fight to her. I believe in you Roy.”
Zach:”Believe me, Hope, he’s more than ready for this match... Training earlier proved that.”
Zach rubs the back of his neck, still reeling a bit from the Silver Slice he took during training, and Hope cracks a smile at that.
Hope:”Excellent. I’m glad to hear it. And I’m glad to hear that you’re going to be walking out of that match the Pure Champion. I expect that my training coach should have something to show around to prove just how good he is in the ring.”
Roy:”Well thanks, Hope. I’m glad to know I have your support. And I’m glad to know that I have the support of you two, as well, but I don’t expect anything less from you two. Just like you three expect only a dominant victory out of me. I don’t plan on disappointing you either. This match is going to steal the show, and I don’t know about what Lacey or what anyone else has planned for this match, but like it or not, the name Roy Speede will remain etched into the nameplate on the Pure Championship belt, and I will continue to wear it around my waist proudly. Lacey can try all she wants to defeat me, but I’m not giving up this championship belt, and like it or not, the reign of Roy Speede has only begun. The Silver Lining in all this, of course, is that Lacey Carter can say she tried, and of that she should be proud, but in the end, the hand that will be raised will be that of Roy Speede.”
The scene fades to black as a waiter walks up to the table and the four start to place their orders.
...
The shot zooms back out from the TV to return its focus to Roy, sitting on the couch with a smirk on his face.
Roy Speede: "Well hey. I bet you're wondering just what's going on, why I showed you this clip from Hope's past... from my past... from our past. Well, it's simple, really. You see, way back when, Hope and I were good friends. We even learned to wrestle together. To be honest, I don't even know where we went wrong, but something or another must've happened, and now we're enemies. And now, I don't regret it one bit that I've become much more successful than her.
To be honest, I don't have any problems with her at all, but if she expects to take my title, she's got another thing coming. This title belongs to the Silver Lining... Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a match to get ready for."
The scene fades to black as he gets up and begins disrobing.
