The scene opens on the arena after the show had ended. The parking lots around the arenas were almost empty, as the crowds left for the night, after the excitement of the show they had just seen. The stagehands start dismantling everything in the arena to get ready for the show in the next city, while the superstars went back to their hotels to celebrate their victories, or to heal their wounds and wait for the next chance at a match, and at victory. We soon see Joanne walking down one of the many hallways, alone, on her phone with someone on the other end.
Joanne: I have no fuckin' idea what he thought he was doin' out there tonight! I mean he just came out there, ran his mouth, and then... Yeah I know. I knew he was nothin' but a pussy ass little bitch just like his girlfriend. Yeah you're right, he knew we would kick his ass all over the ring, and realize he made an ass of himself.
Joanne laughs as she stops and leans up against one of the walls in the hallway.
Joanne: Trust me I was ready to take him down. There was no doubt in my mind that I was ready. Yeah we'll get another chance, and when we do face him again, we'll break him. Talk to you later.
Joanne hangs up, and continues to walk down the hallway until she reaches her locker room where the guys were waiting for her. She walks in and tosses her jacket on one of the chairs, and sits down beside Reno.
Reno: Hey babe. Where have you been?
Joanne: Wanderin' around the arena...
Reno: Doing what?
Joanne: Thinkin' about what happened tonight that's all. I mean Jake didn't even have the balls to stand against Classy and I tonight.
Rude: All you had to do was give the word and we could have beat the living shit out of him right there.
Scarpaci: No, that's what he was expectin' us to do.
Joanne: I know. I'm glad that you didn't attack him. He would be tryin' to find me right now, and beat me or at least try to.
Reno: Could be worse...
Rude: What do you mean man?
Reno: He could send his girlfriend again. I mean that was just an awesome fight.
Joanne: Hahahaha. Very funny. If she even tried that again, she wouldn't be walkin' away this time.
Rude: I had a few of the Don's say it was one of the best parties they had been to in a long time. Giovanni said the only thing that could have made it better is we had strippers there.
Joanne: Figures. So what do you guys want to do after this?
Reno: Why don't we go to Vegas and celebrate Valentine's day since we didn't get a chance to on Tuesday?
Joanne: That would be nice, and it would be nice to get away from the house for a few days.
Scarpaci: What about me and Rude?
Joanne: You can tag along, just don't get in the way when Reno and I are spendin' time together. There's enough to do in Vegas... Just find somethin' to keep you occupied.
Rude: I might see if Red wants to come and take her out for a night on the town.
Joanne smiles and nods slightly as she gets to her feet. Rude walks out of the locker room and dials his phone, as Joanne starts to gather up her stuff.
Joanne: Are you sure you want to do this?
Reno: Yeah. I feel bad for not doing anything on Tuesday... Well special anyway.
Joanne: We went out for dinner, and you got me roses... I think that was special enough.
Reno shrugs, as a knock comes to the door of the locker room. Scarpaci answers the door, and there stood a young man with a piece of paper in his hand. He hands it to Scarpaci, before turning and walking away once more.
Scarpaci: You got a message.
Joanne: It's probably my match for next week. Let me see.
Scarpaci hands the note to Joanne, and she sighs opening it. It wasn't going to be a difficult match, but one that had happened once before.
Reno: Who's it against baby?
Joanne: Shawn Cashman and Emma Sinclair. I know this sounds stupid, but I think I'm havin' deja vu.
Scarpaci: Yeah didn't you already have a match against them?
Joanne: Yeah I did. Classy and I already faced them if I'm not mistaken. Are they really lookin' to die that badly this week?
Reno: I don't know, but I know this is a match that you can handle.
Scarpaci: And at least you know they won't turn into chicken shit and walk away at the last minute.
Joanne smirks, as she tosses her bag toward Scarpaci. He catches it, as she puts on her suit jacket and grabs her guns from the locker behind them.
Joanne: If they do, I'm still goin' to go after them. I'm not goin' to be deprived of another win, just because someone doesn't want to have their ass kicked.
Rude soon comes back and stops in the doorway with a smile on his face.
Joanne: I take it from the look on your face, Red said she would meet us in Vegas.
Rude: Yep. She's flying out tonight after she's done.
Joanne: Good. We might have a girls day out while we're there. It would help relax me before the match on Thursday night.
The four of them are soon heading toward the now empty underground parking lot as Joanne's mind begins to wander. The match that she and Classy were in, was a rematch between them and Cashman and Sinclair. She wanted to get her hands on Cashman for sometime now, for what he did to her the first time that she had stepped foot into the ring in the UWA.
Joanne: *Voice Over* Do you realize how long I've been wantin' to face you again Cashman? You cheated me out of my first win, and made me look like a fool. This time around it won't be so easy. I'll be out for your blood, and trust I will not stop until I have you on the mat beggin' for the pain to stop. You see I don't like to play nice with others, especially when I know I have been cheated by them.
They reach the car, and get in, before pulling out of the underground parking lot heading for the airport, as the scene fades to black.
Act 2: The Magic of Vegas
The scene opens on the beautiful city of Vegas. the lights of the city glistened against the night sky. the stars shimmered over the bright lights of the city, as the full moon was shinning brightly over the city and the desert that extended on either side of the bright lights. As the camera moves over the city we see New York New York, and the large Eiffel Tower that rose into the sky, among the other strange hotels and casinos that had been built over the last few years. The Bellaigo was something exotic placed among the tacky and the normal hotels, but it was where we find Joanne walking among the private garden that was attached to the Villa she was staying at. She was dressed in a black cocktail dress carrying her shoes in her hand. Her and Reno had dinner, and it had gone perfectly, but she hadn't seen him since.
Joanne: *Voice Over* The night was perfect, but I wonder where he went too... I mean it's not like him to just wander off.
She continues to wander along the garden, before she hears rustling in the bushes somewhere behind her.
Joanne: Hello? Is anyone there?
Reno: Wise men say only fools rush in
But I can't help falling in love with you.
Joanne turns around, as Reno appears with a dozen bright red roses in hand singing "I can't help falling in love with you" by Elvis. Joanne smiles softly, as he draws closer, listening to him croon like the big names from the days when Vegas was still young.
Reno: Shall I stay Would it be a sin If I can't help falling in love with you.
Joanne's eyes fill with tears as he walks to her, and hands her the roses. She smiles through the tears, as they start to dance in midst of the garden.
Reno: Like a river flows surely to the sea,
Darling so it goes, Some things are meant to be Take my hand, take my whole life too For I can't help falling in love with you.
Joanne: This has been such a perfect night. I don't want it to end.
Reno just smiles as he leans in to kiss her. The stars twinkled above, as the sound of the fountains could be heard, over the chirping of the crickets that filled the garden around them.
Reno: Happy Valentine's Day Joanne.
Joanne: Thank you...Even though it was Tuesday, I'll still take it. Now I have to give my gift to you. I mean Tuesday I know what I had planned, but it got ruined when the attack on the house started.
Reno: You don't have to give me anything.
Joanne: Yes I do, and I know you're goin' to love it.
Joanne takes Reno by the hand as they start back toward the villa. They arrive a few minutes later, and Joanne just smiles, as she pushes Reno down on the couch, and kisses him before walking into the master bedroom. a few feet away from the couch there was something that was out of place. Reno looks at it, and realizes what it was. It was a stripper pole. "I touch myself" by the Divinyls begins to play over the stereo in the villa. Reno turns around as Joanne comes out of the bedroom dressed in nothing more than a black sheer see through lace teddy. Joanne moves sensually toward the pole, as Reno watches on.
Joanne: I know I've been sayin' that I was goin' to do this for a while now... Now you have your wish.
Joanne grabs the pole in hand, and begins to dance. She had picked up a few things when she had to go to the club to handle business with her associates at times. She had never danced but she knew they made good money. Reno's eyes were wide, as she straddled the pole, and swung around it, only to hang upside down, before getting back up. She starts to crawl toward Reno, as he wipes a bead of sweat from his forehead. He had been to plenty of strip clubs in his time, but this was the hottest thing he had ever seen. Joanne was pushing 40, but she still had the body of a 20 year old. She kept herself in shape, and made sure nothing was out of place. She stops just a few inches in front of him, and grabs his tie, and sits on his lap, giving him a lap dance.
Reno: This is so hot. I love you.
Joanne: I love you too. Now how about we go to bed, and I give you your other gift.
She whispers something into his ear, and he looks up at her with wide eyes once again, as she nods. Joanne gets up, as pulls him along by his tie to the bedroom as the scene fades to black.
Act 3: Heritage
The scene opens on another bright sunny day in Vegas. Tourists make their way to the various hot spots in the city, while locals head off to work for another day. We soon see Joanne and the boys walking up to the new Mob Museum that had just been opened. Joanne smiles to herself knowing that what was inside was part of her own life. This was her heritage and something she wanted to see before they left Vegas. She had heard others talking about it, and had to see it for herself. They soon walk up the stairs, and into the dim lighting of the building. The front was done like a courtroom, and she couldn't help but smile. Not only were some of the greatest mobsters lives on display but some of the greatest lawmen that actually brought them down, and to justice.
Joanne: Hard to believe they held some of the Kefauver Committee hearings here. I mean this is where mens fates were decided.
Reno: I remember my father saying something about that. It was before my grandfather came here from San Fransisco.
Scarpaci: Yeah, we heard the stories too. Our grandfather was just startin' when the hearin's began.
Joanne: Our family got off lucky. No one noticed us, and that's why we're still here.
Rude: No surprise. Your grandfather had an ability to protect everything around him at least.
Joanne: And we still do. At least when we go back home this week, everythin' will be taken care of. The tiger got a few of them, and I have to say it was a good idea to have him where we did.
Scarpaci: I told you so.
They pay the fee to enter the museum, and start to look around. There were pictures of the great mobsters ling the walls, as well as replicas of the guns that were used. The Thompson machine gun had been a favorite with most of them back in the day, but you could never go wrong with a shot gun to someone's face.
Joanne: This is somethin' isn't it guys?
Joanne tuns around and she was alone. She sighs, knowing that they had probably wandered off looking at the different stuff behind the glass cases. Joanne starts off down the long hallway by herself taking in everything around her as she went.
Joanne: *Voice Over* It's funny to be surrounded by so much history and yet I'm still a part of it. Once you are part of a family you will always remain part of it. There are no sick days, no vacation time, no paid holidays... Once you are in, you are in to the day you die. If you squeal you are hunted like an animal... Not only the one who squealed but some times their families as well. I've seen thin's in my time that have always made me cringe. Wives, and children killed just because of a squealer. I'm not that cruel, or heartless. I take care of the problem, nothin' more. But these guys... These guys were the true bad asses of their time. They didn't care who they hurt, or what they did to get where they were. I share some of those traits with all of them, but a wise man once told me, women and children are innocent, why take their lives for the man's mistake? I've stuck by that. When I'm in the ring it's a whole other story. Anyone who stands in my way, is just another opponent that needs to be brought down so I can climb my way to the top once again.
She continues moving down the hallway, and stops in front of a large piece of a brick wall. It was a piece of the wall from the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago.
Joanne: The St. Valentine's Day Massacre was one of the bloodiest times in history from the time of prohibition. But Capone did this one right. He was in Florida when the order was given. No one could pin it on him. Hell they couldn't pin nothin' on him, except Income Tax invasion. If he had paid his taxes then he would have been a free man. He had the police force under his thumb, the courts... and even city hall. He could off but he didn't and he ended up goin' to Alcatraz where he died. I know a lot of you are probably askin' yourself why do I do this week in and week out... The truth is, I get bored, and its a good way to get out my aggression. Most of us shoot people, or do somethin' stupid and get caught. Not me... I can beat the holy hell out of people legally and no one can say anythin'. Thursday night, I'll be standin' in the ring with my good friend Classy J against Emma Sinclair, and Cashman. The last time we were all in the ring together was my debut match, and I lost. This time it's goin' to be very different. This time Classy J and I will be the ones walkin' away with the win, while you and Emma are laid out in the middle of the ring Cashman.
Joanne makes her way over to the lawman's side of the museum and sighs looking at the pictures of the great Eliot Ness. The only man that could bring Capone to justice. There were many guys like Ness that thought the mob was the worst thing that ever happened to America. Joanne just smiles knowing a lot had changed over the last 50 years or so, and the families now were starting to turn their ill gotten gains into major companies or found a way to get rid of it, before anyone ever found out... including herself.
Joanne: The big bad lawmen... They think they know the way we work, and still we have them guessin' at every turn. Most of us keep on the down low, and stay out of the bright lights and try not to expose anythin'. But then there was Gotti... Stupid ass didn't know when to stay out of the lime light. You never tell anyone lower than the Capo's what you are doin', and always make sure your guys are a hundred percent loyal. Sure I've had that problem more than once, but I've taken care of the problem. Thursday night I know Classy J will be at my side and watchin' my back as we stand face to face with the two of you. You see I'm not afraid, and I never will be, especially of assholes such as yourselves. Emma I have hardly heard anythin' about you, so I really don't care if you even show up. You can try and stand against me but you know there isn't anythin' that you can really do against me, or Classy for that matter. Have you even won a match since you've been here?
Joanne smiles to herself, as she continues to walk through the long hallways passing by suits that had belonged to the mobsters of the time, and sighs. The designs had been so simple back then, and there was no high collars, or awful looking designs, as they were now.
Joanne: Cashman, you and I still have unfinished business and this time when all is said and done, you and your partner will be on the mat, while Classy J and I walk away with another win under us as Tag team partners. I let you off easy last time, but this time I'll make you wish you were dead. I'm not goin' to play nice, and I know Classy isn't goin' to either, so you have your hands full this week don't you?
Joanne rounds a corner and there stood the boys waiting by a set of double doors.
Joanne: Where have you guys been?
Reno: We've been walking around, and then we heard shooting, so we hid for a while until it stopped. When no one came to find us we came out.
Joanne sighs, and shakes her head.
Joanne: Gawd you're dumb... Thank Gawd for that ass.
Reno: What?
Joanne: Nothin'. So you guys ended up here?
Rude: Yeah, and we ended up here in the little theater like area.
Joanne: Figures. Well why don't we go in and see what they got playin'?
The three of them nod, and they head into the darkened theater, sitting up in the back, as the screen comes to life. The credits begin to role, and flashes of mob hits begin to flash on the screen, as a voice begins to tell about each hit, and what had occurred in a documentary like setting. Joanne sits back, and leans against the wall, taking it all in.
Joanne: *Voice Over* Classy you have been the best tag team partner that I have had in a really long time. I mean you have watched my back in matches that we knew we had the biggest shot at winnin', and managed to help me out more than you know. Thursday night will be a match that none of us will forget, but that's only because we are goin' to kick Cashman's and Sinclair's asses all over that ring. Nothin' can stop us no matter what they do. We are the Mafioso, and we get paid to kick your ass... See you soon.
She knew Thursday night was coming, and needed to be ready for her match, but today was a day of enjoying the company she kept. This was her life, her past, her present, and her future. The mob would never die no matter how many times families were brought down, because there would always be someone to take over the family name, and start all over again. the family would always come first no matter where Joanne was. The movie continues, as the four of them sit in silence, as the scene fades to black.
